Republicans in Congress have been trying to pass their latest repeal and replace of the Affordable Healthcare Act, but its been an uphill battle. There have been many drafts, many votes, and Republicans breaking rank, and efforts thus far have been fruitless.

Congress usually takes a break in August, and President Trump recently put pressure on Congress to act quickly by tweeted “I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new HealthCare bill fully approved and ready to go!”

A new version of the legislation is scheduled to be released within a week, and Republican Senator Pat Toomey thinks this may be the one that finally gets enough votes to become law.

This has been a wild ride for insurance this year, and hopefully we’ll get some peace of mind about how it will all end up soon.
