2. Pre-existing conditions will not be covered in the proposed replacement
Under the current proposal, only those who have gone extended periods of time without health insurance can be denied coverage for pre-existing conditions. This prevents people from getting insurance only when they need it. Those who go without coverage, and then gain it will also have to pay a higher premium for a while.
